start right at the house. In the summer we enjoy DAILY SWIMMING ,( sometimes also stand-up paddling or canoeing ) in the lake / river nearby ( 5 min. walk ) Some say : it is the nicest river swimming in the world.

Favourable location: MAIN STATION OF BERN as well as the OLD TOWN / Medieval City center (WORLD HERITAGE of the Unesco) are very close : 10 min. by car..... 15 - 20min. by bus / excellent public transport nearby.....25 min by bike.......1 hour walking (through the wood). The City of Bern is a University town and a historical and cultural jewel. Many precious museums, places to go to........ including the farmers market ( Tuesday and especially Saturday )

BERN itself is the CAPITAL in the CENTER OF SWITZERLAND Practically all other interesting Swiss towns can easily be reached by trains in 1 to (max.) 3 Hours . From the apartment ( or the main station ) the ALPS...the BERNESE OBERLAND is only about 40-60 min away. The AREA of the THREE LAKES ( Lake of Neuchatel , of Biel-Bienne and of Murten) as well as the beautiful hilly region of the JURA (marvelous walking and biking !) can all be reached in 30-60 min.
BERN is geographically also in the CENTER OF EUROPE. Many beautiful Citys ( Paris ; Lyon, Milano, Florence, Venice, Genua, Frankfurt , Berlin , Wien .... can generally easy be reached within a few hours by a train ride.

So there is in the immediate neighborhood as well as in the area of Bern and from Bern more than enough to do for 1 or two months ( if you include one or the other european cities also 3 months are fastly filled )
