The family is a "standard recomposed family" with 2 parents and 4 children (born in 1994, 1996 & 1996, 2001) living in a typical house in south of Brussels. We are actively implied in the community, as teachers (Nicolas of math, physics, sailing & Catherine of piano and musical analysis) and director (Catherine) of a public musical academy.

Our children are grown-up and were very active students (in engineering, medicine, visual effects, architecture and archeology) and also active in scouting activities.

We are everyday cyclists, and we use the public transportations when needed but are still owners of 2 cars.

Today, the children, but for the last one who study archeology, do not live with us anymore.

We, Catherine and Nicolas, love to discover the world, attend concerts, sing, play music, visit exhibitions and musea, walk in the forest, sail, kayak and meet people.

La famille est une « famille recomposée standard » composée de deux parents et de quatre enfants (nés en 1994, 1996, 1996 et 2001) vivant dans une maison typique au sud de Bruxelles. Nous sommes très impliqués dans la communauté, en tant que professeurs (Nicolas enseigne les mathématiques, la physique et la voile, et Catherine le piano et l'analyse musicale) et directrice (Catherine) d'une académie de musique publique.

Nos enfants ont grandi et ont été des étudiants très actifs (en ingénierie, médecine, effets visuels, architecture et archéologie) et ont également participé activement à des activités scoutes.

Nous faisons du vélo tous les jours et utilisons les transports en commun lorsque cela est nécessaire, mais nous possédons toujours deux voitures.

Aujourd'hui, nos enfants, à l'exception du dernier qui étudie l'archéologie, ne vivent plus avec nous.

Catherine et Nicolas adorons découvrir le monde, assister à des concerts, chanter, jouer de la musique, visiter des expositions et des musées, nous promener dans la forêt, faire de la voile, du kayak et rencontrer des gens.

We work every day and enjoy week-end activities in and around the city of Brussels. When possible we go and enjoy the nearby Forest de Soignes for a walk, a jog or cycling.

We used to bake our bread in the home machine, enjoy hombrewed expresso and tea. We also sit at night talking in front of the open oven in the living room, although we have a very good TV projector with extraordinary sound to look at good programs and films.

We enjoy family games, we have a lot for all ages. Ranging from wood games to cards and table games.

Nicolas is a very active do-it-yourself person, working as much as he can to improve the house and cooking. He has built himself most of the furniture and the kitchen. He repairs most things at home.

Catherine loves playing music, gardening, cooking and preparing nice meals. We have a lot of equipement and kitchen books to get more ideas. Nicolas usually prepares the desserts but Catherine has an extraordinary recipe of a chocolate mousse.
We practice sports : walking, rowing, sailing, swimming and every day cycling. We enjoy putting the bikes on the large car and going somewhere for the day.

The house has very recently completely been refitted and is very well maintained and cleaned. It is always tidied.

We have a nice workshop to do all sorts of woodworks or metalworks.

We have a 1/2 long piano and 2 guitars.
